Hi! My name is David Elliott, and this is my missionary blog, intended to document my experiences serving in the Taiwan Taipei mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Who am I?
I’m from Salt Lake City, Utah. I attended West High School, where I was in the ELP and IB programs. My hobbies and interests include robotics, hiking, painting, and computer programming. I plan to be an electrical/computer engineer. The above picture is of my family. I am wearing the yellow shirt.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In March of 2014, I received my mission call to the Taiwan Taipei mission. I (will report | reported) to the Missionary Training Center on 9 July 2014.
Why have I made this blog?
When I was preparing to serve my mission, I found it very informative and interesting (and entertaining) to read the blogs of missionaries who were currently serving in the same mission I had been called to. I wanted to make a similar blog so I could relate my experiences to people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to read my emails or who wanted to view my communications in an organized format. I hope you enjoy reading it.
What will this blog contain?
This blog will contain my weekly emails and all attached photographs. I’m going to try to include lots of photographs, because I think they’re more interesting than text.
How will content be posted to this blog?
I use WordPress’s post-by-email functionality to send a copy of my emails home to this blog. By CCing the post-by-email address of this blog in my weekly emails, I can mirror the content of the emails on this blog without ever having to directly edit the blog itself.
